Understanding the sequence of events and the pathways involved in blood flow within the heart is essential for comprehending cardiovascular function and pathology.

      2. Overview of the Heart's Chambers

      The human heart consists of four chambers: two atria (right atrium and left atrium) and two ventricles (right ventricle and left ventricle). Blood flows through these chambers in a coordinated manner to ensure efficient circulation throughout the body. The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from the body via the superior and inferior vena cavae, while the left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs through the pulmonary veins.
