Congruence:
Congruence, in counseling, reflects the alignment between a person's inner experiences and outward expressions. Also known as authenticity, it involves being genuine and transparent in conveying one's feelings, thoughts, and attitudes. A congruent individual presents an accurate reflection of their internal state, fostering trust and rapport in therapeutic relationships. Incongruence, where there is a mismatch between inner and outer experiences, may hinder effective communication and understanding in the counseling process.
