Poliomyelitis (Polio):
Poliomyelitis, or polio, is a viral infectious disease caused by the poliovirus. It primarily affects the nervous system, leading to muscle weakness and paralysis. Polio can be prevented through vaccination, but in cases of infection, it may cause lifelong disability or, in severe instances, be fatal.
Paraplegia:
Paraplegia is a condition characterized by paralysis of the lower extremities, often resulting from spinal cord injuries or diseases. Individuals with paraplegia experience loss of sensation and motor function in the legs and lower trunk. Rehabilitation and assistive devices are crucial for managing daily activities for those affected by paraplegia.
