1. Program Objectives (BAAUD)
The B.A. in Applied Urdu, aligned with the National Education Policy-2020, offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and skill-based academic courses. Over three years, this undergraduate program aims to cultivate a high level of proficiency in Urdu language, excellent communication skills in both Urdu and English, and a deep understanding of Urdu literature. Students will learn to analyze literature from various perspectives and appreciate its nuances. The curriculum includes Core Courses, Minor Courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, and Common Value-added courses. Moreover, the program emphasizes democratic, multicultural, secular, environmental, and gender-sensitive values to promote equity, social justice, and merit in education. Upon completion, graduates can explore diverse employment opportunities in both private and government sectors.
2. Program Structure
The entire B.A. in Applied Urdu program consists of 120 credits. Skill enhancement courses, internships, and apprenticeships, facilitated by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under an IGNOU and NSDC MoU, will be integrated wherever feasible. The program duration spans three to six years, offering flexibility with provisions for multiple entry and exit points in alignment with the new education policy.
3. Eligibility
Candidates eligible for the program include those who have completed 10+2 or its equivalent qualification.
4. Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction for the B.A. in Applied Urdu program is Urdu.
